No I didn't Die....not entirely

Last weeks art post was a bust.
However, I haven't said a word this week because my time has been divided between sleeping, eating, and entertaining my five-tear-old brother.

I have had the joy of spending the last few days keeping tabs on the house, reading books, kissing boo-boos and generally dying of pregnancy tired.
Today was good because the neighbor kids came over and kept Baby Bro entertained while I got some much needed rest. They are currently in the pool on the porch and I have the privilege of listening to their imaginative games and occasional crisis.

I've decided being a kid was much more fun than being an adult. I mean nobody brings me towels when I'm cold or makes sure I have snacks and juice while I do nothing but play in the pool.

Then again, maybe I'm just a good sister.

I have been learning to take joy in the small success of the day. Like the fact that my dishes are done, I fed my husband and my brother a good lunch, and baby bro has had a blast playing outside today.

I feel terrible that all I can seem to do is eat, sleep, and drag myself from one task to another. Bro wants me to play with him, swim, and go to the park, and all I do is say "you play I'll watch."
Whatever is going on this week as far as being preggy is just wearing me out. That is until 11 o'clock at night at which point I am wide awake and lying in bed slipping slowly into madness.

In about twenty minutes I am going to start dinner and hope that I actually want to eat it when it's done. (Food and I have been mortal enemies since day one of this pregnancy). It will get made anyway because Dad and Bro need dinner sometime tonight and the sooner that's done the sooner I can lay down.

On a side note, the first night of this baby sitting gig, my dear sisters gerbils Houdini-ed out of their cage and Jim, Dad, Bro, and I spent the hours from 8pm to 11pm playing mouse hunt in the basement. Luckily they were both found thanks to my husbands rodent hunting skills and they have been electrical taped into their cage in the hopes that they stay incarcerated.

All in all, no one has been injured the house is still standing. Even the grass is staying watered thanks to my few moments of motivation between power naps.

If the only casualty this week is my blog, I'll take it.

'til net time.

(Baby Bro in signing off with his lovely serenade of "Row Row Row Your Boat" He sings it as a most important and regal song.)
