Chicken Mommy
So last night we had an adventure.
We were walking home through the campus gardens when we hear this loud peeping near our feet.
upon further inspection we discover two baby chickens wandering around the garden at 10pm at night.
So naturally I picked one up and so did my dear husband and we began to ask those we passed if they had lost a chicken. Everyone thought we were joking until they saw the two little chicks in our hands.
Nobody had lost a chicken, though some were more than willing to snuggle the two peeps.
Finally we found out that in the psychology building they use the baby chickens for analysis. But the office and classrooms were closed by that time.
So we took the little bitty's home and gave then a bed for the night, with gourmet Ritz crackers and a tiny bowl of water. We got to be chicken parents for the night.
After we turned out the lights and went to bed for the night they finally stopped peeping and snuggled up together to go to sleep. I went to the psychology department this morning and returned them. You should have seen the looks I was getting carrying around a peeping box.
It turns out they were missing three of their babies but I could only give them the two we had found.
They had no idea how the chickens had gotten out and were glad to have them back.
It's nice to know that Squeaky and Sleepy are safe and cared for now.
In other news we have a new permanent member of the family. Our cherry tomato plant named Eddy sits outside in a bucket and we hope that he will bare fruit in the next couple months. We also have a Walmart goldfish named Spotty who has yet to die. Though with the way my Hubby keeps feeding him every ten minutes he might not last much longer.
Also, I figured out that I can upload GIF files to my posts so you'll be seeing a lot more of these fun moving pictures. I've been collecting them from Tumblr. Neat funny little site where people share pictures and jokes and stuff but, mind you, there are a lot of scary things that people post so view very VERY carefully. I only see things that my friends post so it's fairly safe.

Oh! I want to be a chicken mommy too! I want to squeeze the baby chicken!
