Storm

A rumbling BOOM and the leaves rustle and crash in the furious wind. the trees creek and bend at it's command. the wind hurls the heavy drops against the roof and windows, the rush if water hitting the pavement and the puddles, become a tremendous roar. again the Mighty thunder commands the stage of natures incredible performance announcing it's presence with a vibrating boom. the lightening sends a deadly slice through the darkening sky. the rain batters the branches of the trees and leaves those caught in the storm breathless. All is still while the storm run it's course. not a bird chirps and the other animals go unseen. the thunder stomps and rants until it's worn, the lightening lets out it's final piercing stab, the rain falls more gently as the wind looses it's fury. then, as quickly as it came, the storm slows. a bird braves the few falling drops to splash in a puddle and it's sweet whistle is joined by another. The earth drinks deep from the puddles and the flowers lift there heads. the trees still, and the translucent clouds are reflected in the clear puddles. and finally, the best part of the miracle of a rain storm, a sweet, and pure smell of earth and water fills the cool air with it's clean smell. the wind gone, the thunder quieted, the storm is over.....
It rained today and I again marveled at the beauty and Majesty of how strong a storm can be. it's quiet now but for a while there you couldn't step outside your door without getting drenched.
ok so now that that's done I'll catch you up on the events of the weekend. be prepared to read there was a lot that happened in the past four days:
first and for most: I GOT A PART IN THE PLAY!!!!!!! and whats more is that I got the lead!!!! I am so excited to start practicing and get back into the joy of being on the stage. I'll be sure to give a little more information as time goes on and i can hardly wait to tell all the funny stories that come with the practices. Today was just a collaboration day we got our scripts and our practice schedules. but to kill some time before we had to go to practices we decorated the white board in the Drama room . you should have seen all of us grown teenagers fighting each other for the markers and adding our own personal touch to whoever's drawing was nearest. even our director got into it. :) It looks to be the start of some promising friends ships. :)
second: Friday I met up with a friend of mine named Kate that had moved from Nampa five years ago. My Choir class was the last place I ever expected to see her. I didn't think I'd see her again after she moved and we weren't close friends to start with just classmates in elementary school. She's become quiet the character and it was great to see her again.
As for the football game: hat was WAY more fun than I had expected Kate and I screamed for our team, ate mini scones, shared Cotton candy, and just had a great time. It was a blast even though our team lost. I loved the energy of it and Kate introduced me to some of her friends who are fun kids even though they're younger than me. Oh!! neat story: I had just, FINALLY, gotten out of the parking lot after the game and I was on my way home when a Styrofoam cup with some kind of drink from Maverick into was tossed out of an on coming car and SMACKED clean into the right side of my windshield. After i screamed and the initial shock had worn off I realized what it was and drove home frustrated at the carelessness of some people. i washed it of and though the bits of the cup away. and the next morning one of the first things my mom tells me is that it had cracked the windshield. I hadn't noticed this the night before and found it not only shocking but kind of funny. so there you go my first experience with foreign objects attacking my car. :) lol.
this then brings me to Saturday: I got up at six and collected my survival bag for babysitting as i was to spend the entire day at my aunts babysitting her two boys. I through on my Ford sweat shirt and my favorite Green Capri's and head out. After running me through what the boys were to eat and when hey would wake up she left and i was left in peace for about two hours while they slept. i read for those two hours and glanced up every once in a while, watching the sun creep across the carpet through the back door. After the boys got up and ate and where dressed the rest of the day was cake. we had an accident on the porch with a scraped toe that was made was dramatized to be forty times worse than it really was. but after it was clean and wasn't bleeding anymore he lost interest and forgot about it. when i was done there i spent the rest of the day at home besides taking a nice long walk around my neighborhood and just an up date, my discovered world has now extended out of my culdisac , around the block, and into the next neighborhood.
and now Sunday: Sunday was probably the crowning glory of my weekend. church was wonderful and after eating way to much at Sunday dinner laying out on the swing o catch up on my scripture reading was very fulfilling. I got about 2 chapters in before i fell asleep but I got more out of those chapters than i have probably the rest of the second book of Nephi. And the naps were good they readied me for the bike ride my dad took us on that evening an made my day a whole lot brighter.
all in all life has been good to me and things are really looking up. I appreciate the concern for my past kind of depressing posts. I was whining and it really wasn't as bad as all that. I think that things are really starting to heal and it will be all down hill from here. oh and one more thing I want to leave you with something that really helped me out today. our seminary teacher shared thi with us and it really meant a lot.
"speak hopefully. speak encouragingly, including about yourself. try not to complain and moan incessantly... yes life has it's problems, and yes, there are negative things to face, but no misfortune is so bad that whining about it won't make it worse"
-Jeffrey R. Holland
From now on I'm going buck up and be positive I find life is easier that way. so lets all keep our faces to the sunshine and remember that if we don't have hard times we will never recognize the good times when they come.
GREAT POST! Outstanding storm story. We could see it from here but didn't get the drama. Speaking of drama--CONGRATS ON THE LEAD! woohoo! Wondering if you will be in Burrgtown when The Cats host The Bees? You were driving at night? Keep up the good work. I hope THIS time we will get to see your stage performance.
